SOLUTIONS FOR VESSEL-TO-SHORE & VESSEL-TO-VESSEL(s) COMMUNICATIONS

Vessels operating in the area of base station coverage have a high-capacity low-latency link available for any operational speed, vessel direction and sea condition. Vessels communicate with other vessels operating in the coverage area, as well as with other users connected to
the onshore network. Handover between different sectors of the base station network is supported.

Stabilized high-gain antennas on the vessel compensate antenna azimuth and elevation for fast heading and pitch-and-roll movement of the vessel.The stabilized antenna system ensures that the antenna beams are constantly aligned with the target when the vessel moves, by moving the antenna in opposite movement to the vessel.

Roaming between different shore base stations is supported. The stabilized high-gain antenna system on the vessel monitors its own position regarding the base station network and maintains the best base station as a pointing target.Any vessel can communicate with any other vessel in the network as long the vessels operate in the coverage area and an IP link operates between the different base stations.

Mobility

The solution supports roaming between different sectors of the same base station network,as well as roaming between different base stations where user-defined.The solution provides the same level of performance for all vessel speeds up to 30 knots.

Latency

MW links have a typical latency of 25ms for single-hop one-way links. Guaranteed latency for a one-way link is max 50ms.

Range

The solution provides connectivity up to 60km for line-of-site (LOS) conditions and uses licensed frequencies.

Capacities
4G-based radio technology supports channel sizes of 5, 10, 15 and 20MHz. Capacity of 80Mbps per sector or 240Mbps per base station can be dynamically shared between the vessels that operate in area of sector/base station coverage.

Security

The solution supports 128-bit AES encryption algorithms.
